eth0 no interface found beim Hochfahren

Hallo Liste,

wenn ich meinen Schlapptop (Thinkpad T42p, Suse 9.2) hochfahre, wird kein
Netzwerk-Interface gefunden. Auszug aus boot.msg:

Setting up network interfaces:

Also muss ich jedesmal in Yast -> Netzwerkgeräte -> Netzkarte die Karte neu
einrichten, dann geht es wieder.

Sagt "rcnetwork status", das Netwerk wäre "running"?
Was passiert, wenn Du statt Yast "rcnetwork restart" sagst?
Was steht in /etc/sysconfig/network/eth-id-00......?

ifup eth0 bzw. eth-id-00...?

ifconfig eth0 xx.yy.zz.ff?

Läuft der Treiber? Versuche mal vor und nach Yast ein
"lsmod|sort>/tmp/fff[vorher|nachher]" und ein diff der
Files. Läuft ein zusätzlicher Treiber?

Ich vermute mal, daß aus irgendeinem Grund das Modul für deine
Netzwerkkarte nicht automatisch geladen wird. Ich weiß aber nicht
wieso. Evtl. reicht es ja schon aus, es im Yast bei der Konfiguration
der Netzwerkkarte unter "Hardwaredetails" explizit anzugeben?

Das ist eine der Möglichkeiten. Dann gibt es auch kein eth0 (ls
/sys/class/net). In diesem Fall in /etc/sysconfig/hotplug:
HOTPLUG_DEBUG=yes
HOTPLUG_SYSLOG=file
Dann neu booten und in /var/log/hotplug.log nachkukcken.

Falls das Interface jedoch existiert, hilft dann ein einfaches 'ifup
eth0' als root?

Da ist sehr warscheinlich die Zeit zu kurz eingestell
in /etc/sysconfig/network/config WAIT_FOR_INTERFACE den Wert erhöhen auf 30
oder 40 .
